Lego building weekend (!)

Yes, I am an adult. Thanks to my friend I have decided it's a definite go-a for a hobby and so this weekend I, well, splashed out. Thankfully Myer had a sale on...

Remember, Lego is practically a family heirloom these days. It can be handed on, mother to daughter etc...

And here we have the latest update on the bachelorette pad. I had to rip out the downstairs toilet as it made more sense to have a laundry in that corner and put a toilet a la powder room upstairs with the main bedroom.

I have added a little verandah out over the water which I'm rather pleased with.
Second storey should be completed this week. Hopefully. The bucket I bought today will assist in this!

Possible new obsession...

WARNING: Random conversations with friends can lead to new ideas, hobbies and obsessions.

Case in point: caught up with a friend on Sunday and ended up spending a couple of hours building with Lego. Completely random moment in time and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Recently I had constructed all my family Lego sets (as best I could) and had them on display. After Sunday's ideas fest I decided I'd take a leaf out of my friend's book and try building my own Lego house. This is tricky with a 9 month old daughter, but as she naps at least twice a day and goes to bed early it's not entirely improbable.
So, I took photos of all my family Lego sets before demolition. I'll also take a photo every now and then of my Lego house to keep you updated.

So I have a few others, but they refused to format nicely in the blog. Grrrr. I also couldn't make everything due to parts missing. But all in all it's pretty together considering some of it's 20 years old!

I will post again....!

Recovery

Thought I'd change things up a bit and type in purple today.
I've had one hell of a week and so this week onwards I'm resolving to be as off the wall as possible to my approaches to everything. If it's 'boring' or 'normal' or I 'just can't take this anymore' then I need to do something completely wacko to remove myself from it.

Hopefully my confinement with my daughter (husband injured and incapable of handling her) will end this week or next and I can escape to the gym a little more often and shake off the nerves/heebie jeebies.
I haven't been to a Zumba class in two weeks and it is KILLING ME! Dance just makes me feel good and if the best I can get to is a Zumba class then so be it. Adult ballet classes will have to happen later in life I think.

My daughter was (legally!) kidnapped today by my husband and I was left to my own devices...so I thought I'd try a nap after my morning pilates class. Unfortunately I was too wired to nap, so I settled for a rest and read instead.

"Two old Fools on a Camel" (biographical) is probably going to raise my blood pressure at the unfairness of some of the treatment and situations that Vicky and Joe get into, but hey, that's life. I highly recommend reading Vicky's other two books - they're lovely reads when you just want to have a laugh and relax.
